He conveys the heart of God through his ministry. He is a true worshiper. God has given him the grace to bring congregations of both the young and old to a place of heart-felt worship.
Jerry and his wife Shem have three children, two daughters, Narin and Zara and a son, Jason. The whole family spent two months in Danville, CA during a 2013 ministry visit. Shem is a wonderful wife and mother and a full partner in the work God has called Jerry to do.
Jerry began his singing and worship career in 1991. He has led worship as a visiting minister in West Africa, Europe and North America in addition to his regular role leading the worship ministry at his home church in Kaduna in Northern Nigeria. Jerry has served under Pastor Chris Delvan Gwamna, Senior Pastor of The New Life Assembly, located in Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria, for over 13 years. They have also ministered and sang together internationally and throughout Nigeria.
God has sent Jerry to visit and minister in Northern California since 2008. Jerry's life was the inspiration for the 2012 documentary film, “When God Leads.” It was directed by iBEN Adeyanju (TKBN The Kingdom Builders Network) Executive Producer Sola Adebawo.
Jerry is known to be a man of integrity and credibility, whose life shines Jesus Christ, who reaches the spirits and hearts of those who join him for ministry time, during which he shares what God gives him and leads prayer. All recognize and delight in his powerfully touching ministry in songs with his guitar. Jerry has written many songs. One of his most popular and widely known songs is “Arise Shine,” which was inspired by Isaiah 61 where Jerry has found inspiration since God spoke verses 6-7 over him over 14 years ago.
6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Isaiah 42:6-7 (KJV)
